How do Gaviscon Original Tablets work?

The active ingredients in Gaviscon Original tablets react instantly when they come into contact with stomach acid - working together to form a protective layer on top of the stomach contents. This layer effectively helps to prevent stomach acid (and any stomach contents) from moving back up into the oesophagus where it could cause symptoms of heartburn.
